I went to buy a couple of drum trigger pads for my left foot, I figured I should be able to play the kit pretty much single handed and free up the left hand for keyboard, so they do not have them in and I order, what is your post code "xxx xx" then what is your house number and then I just pause for 2 seconds.

I was saying a few days before you could be hitting the drums 5 times per second, each hit will make a decision on velocity and placement then you take a total mental brake when asked what is the house number you stay in.

What would be nice is if there was a way of selecting which bits of data to chuck.

For example George 3 operating system commands. Not likely to be of much use in 21st century Britain, but I can still recall on demand.

(... off to check jobserve for ICL 1900 operator...)

The motorised rickshaws are also called 'pedicabs' which sounds dodgy.

The delayed recall you describe is closely related to 'Tip of the Tongue phenomenon', and as thats a cliche its a very common occurence; lots of interesting info on Wikipedia and the like if you want to read further.

I've always believed they got their name from the sound of it.

Tuk Tuks a notoriously good way to get ripped off in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. Even after all the times I've been plus speaking & understanding Thai the little bastards still try it on.

Cheaper to get an air conditioned metered taxi.
