Is the south of France any good for holidaying if you have young kids?

I loved spain as a child.

Some areas that mix beauty with fun for kids without being too commercialised. Amazing cave tours, water parks with hyperslides, beautiful beaches with loads of fun watersports, the odd cheeky nip of sangria and diahorrea medication that is the most potent suff you will ever take and constipate you for a fortnight ....

On the whole, would recommend some areas to all, a great time and memories ...

You can do south of France for less than £50 if you pack your camping gear and sneak into the woods at dusk with your wife and kids. Best get up early too. Bloody dogs.

I'm looking at going there this year but renting a villa with private pool so I can sunbathe with my danglies hanging out and not embarrass the other people. Prices are not too bad but everything is slowly getting booked up so having to look slightly further afield, i.e. Spain or Italy. I've decided that all I want to do this year is sit in the sun, swim, doze, read, put the crate of wine in the pool with each bottle having a length of string tied to it so I can pull it out at leisure, BBQ with salad each night and long bouts of 'sleeping'.

I have done quite a few camping holidays in France and Spain with the ball and chain n rugrats and assuming you are going to go to one of the larger camsites inhabited by the likes of Eurocamp, Keycamp etc the facilities are normally bob on - loads of other kids too so your will make friends and stay out of your hair (assuming they are older than like 4).

Most have some sort of kids club as well which keeps em entertained.

I have to say have never done South of France on the med - but pretty much most other places in France and all have been great.

Oh and the people are great too - ignore what the xenophobic small minded bollock jugglers say - and Rabbit and Horse are a nice change to chicken and steak.

Oh but in terms of price - you may find it is not that cheap - if you go with one of the aforementioned chains you may get 2 weeks in a decent caravan for 2k but by the time you have put on travelling costs and food expect to be looking down the wrong end of 3.5k - obviously if you take your own tent and camp it is loads cheaper but somehow wandering to the washblock with a bowl of washing up does not seem overly holidayesque.

The only problem with going to the south of France is if you accidentally go when the Parisians take their holidays as nearly all of them leave Paris and go then. When we lived in Paris thats where we used to go and basically it was like being in Paris but with sun and sea

Suity in the South of France? Fine wines and fine dining, elegant and tasteful accomodation, well spoken and educated people.

Benidorm mate. 2* all inclusive, you and the family will feel right at home.

I know the french better than you ever will. If you have ever met a nice french person, it's only because they are vying for your money or because you are just as bad as they are so you fit right in ...

Can we just throw this sockie away or at least reboot it and have another go? It's breaking my CUK sockie mould by veering off the social ineptitude scale.

                    Avoid going in August then.

                      Corsica

Have you thought of going to Corsica. It's in France but they hate the French so you should be in good company.
