Time things badly and they may end up shooting themselves in the foot, by getting stuck at customs when returning from their summer holidays.Comment

They were trying to big it up on the telly with the pathetic 10 people stood outside a tax office (which houses hundreds) and a chap saying his driving lesson was cancelled, boo hoo. 500k people at average of 200/day in pay, got to be a handy saving I reckon, fook off for a few weeks if you like and we only rehire where there has been significant disruption felt. AND as for - 'you won't have any teachers if this carries on' 1. It's ridiculously hard to get into teacher training at the moment due to the demand for places and 2. There is fook all else this mob can do so they arent going anywhere.Comment

Outsource all the teaching to India. Infact, send all our kids to India would probably be the best thing we ever did. At least they'd be in a growing, debt free, high tech economy.Originally posted by lukemg View PostThey were trying to big it up on the telly with the pathetic 10 people stood outside a tax office (which houses hundreds) and a chap saying his driving lesson was cancelled, boo hoo. 500k people at average of 200/day in pay, got to be a handy saving I reckon, fook off for a few weeks if you like and we only rehire where there has been significant disruption felt. It's dead here, there's a picket line on both entrances manned by 3 people on each, no caravans or burning oil drums, I was sneered at for being a private sector capitalist pig.
Great support for a government department of 4,000+.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment
