    How about we ditch all the public sector workers and give them a pay off.

    Something like this:

      Yes, parents of infant and junior school age kids, who now have to take a day off because their kids' school is closed.

      <rant>
      It's the same at the end of each school holiday when the teachers decide to tag an extra day on the end and call it "teacher training"! W.T.F. couldn't they have had their days "training" during the six f**king weeks holiday they've just had?

          Its soooo easy to give a payoff and pick a large figure out of the hat when the money is coming from tax payers, isnt it.

          The true nature of Labour's destruction of this country is finally becoming visible. Labour fostered this kind of corrupt policies. It was their way of showing their voters that they can all have a great time at the expense of the tax payer.

            Do they need any training ? Or is it just an excuse to spend time in a 4* hotel and enjoy expensive lunches and dinners ?

            I spend a lot of time in Holiday Inn and its amazing how many training conferences are held for the public sector workshy. Free food and booze !

              I'm not expecting much of a picket line, they'll take the opportunity to have their muesli and green tea in bed.
              Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

                I don't think they go to hotels, I doubt they even turn up at the school! How the hell can you train 30-odd teachers of differing specialised subjects and age streaming, all on the same day?

                  Pub.

                  When it snowed last year and the schools were closed. They and the caretaker were in the pub. Some parents offered to clear the paths (No thanks, Health and Safety)

                  Last teacher training day. They were in the pub.

                  Strike day tomorrow. They will be in the pub.

                  I suppose this may be one of the downsides of having the pub next to the school, but do some work FFS!!!!

                      Our local Primary school decided to hold their training day last year at Wimbledon watching the tennis

                      Caused quite a stir in the local press
