It's fun until it's a job, then it's a job."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested." -
Chef, achieved the dream briefly but realized that being a commis chef at a late age with a heavy mortgage was not a good idea given the average commis yearly wage is less than a month as a contractor.Comment

I didn't hate chemistry, but I didn't enjoy it either, and that ruled out medicine when I was making my mind up.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostI wanted to be a doctor from when I was quite little up to about 14, when I discovered I needed A level chemistry. I hated chemistry - we had the dullest teacher on earth. After dismissing that, I was clueless. Fell into IT. Still here.
Atomic physicist appealed until I realised how much staring down microscopes did my eyes in and how incredibly boring the write ups of practical experiments were.
Astronaut? David Bowie's song made me realise that life in a tin can was something I didn't fancy.
I quite liked the idea of architect, but was put off by the cyclical nature of the building trade, with regular slumps.
Got into IT as part of a management trainee job,, found I enjoyed it, and the money seemed to be there if you got into the right area. Hated being charged out at a generous daily rate and then getting crud pay rises, so contracting was an obvious route to take.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

I notice porn star wasnt an option ....
Isnt that the dream job and dream life? Unlimited porking of hot women, never having to listen about their dead puppy for 12 hours before getting some action. Then turning happily grey like Hugh with beautiful blondes on your arm, living it up with slags in a mansion and dying of a heart attack in your old age as one girl rides you like a stallion ....
Unfortunately I dont have the looks or have abnormally large privates mimicking a horse.Comment

Wanted to be a Astronomer/Physicist/Astronaut. I became a bloody design engineer.
Thought about retraining to become an astronomer or physicist, but the cost of university in the UK now is horrendous.
Been looking at uni's in Sweden to do a MSc and Phd.Comment
