AtW, if I ask an easy question will it help? If I happened to stumble across one you can't answer, it might be offputting when the real testers wouldn't ask it (or might not even know it).

Lemme see, you add to the economy, you work hard, you create, you get in the Grauniad, you engage more than willingly in discussion in English, you can be a prat sometimes.

Looks good to me. Best of luck.

Thanks mate, I think if you add to this - fail test at least once, then I would qualify for British citizenship

        A two parter

        You are wearing a waistcoat.
        (1) How is it pronounced?

        (a) waistcoat
        (b) wesket
        (c) wastcoot
        (d) shellsuit

        (2) Which button(s) should be left undone?

        (a) top one
        (b) bottom one
        (c) all of them
        (d) none of them

Expect to be deported immediately. In what way are you creating employment for outreach workers?

Seriously I doubt you'll need luck, you seem to be pretty well settled in.
Just don't try to chat up the tester (testor/examiner?)
          Why not?

Well, I passed and the paper (unexpectedly) said that I would not need proof of English language knowledge (which I did not since I have UK degree)

A bit of a bummer that they did not show actual correct score (out of 24 questions), most of them were very easy - whoever created this test certainly did not try hard to make sure people fail.

Gowon, give use some examples. (I know there are by a google, but it's always fun to see what people remember from an exam)

Interestingly that I did not have to sign any papers about not revealing questions, not that I will be but anyway, the 2 I think I may have done wrong were related to religion - %-tage of UK population who are religions and also %-of Catholics to UK population, had to make educated guess on these one.

Generally questions are very easy - GMAT was a lot harder.

I bet your average Brit (by birth) would struggle with the test.

Well, possibly but its easy so long as you read and remember around 50 pages of text from official book.

Can anyone access Home Office's site (IND dept) - http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/con...d/en/home.html

It seems impossibly slow at ALL times, is it just peculiarity of my connection or not?!?!?!
