When I was a soldier, I spent a couple of years at a Royal Artillery base at Larkhill. There was one room at the end of block 3 that overlooked Stonehenge (a half mile away). In those days it was free and unfenced
guess who had that room

The place I had in Paris had a view of Sacre Coeur.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostThat is actually worth thinking about for a moment. Its not just happy days - its brilliant
There must be people in the world, who wake up, look out of their bedroom window, and the first thing they see ?
Eiffle tower
Stonehenge
Taj Mahal
Colusseum
Giant redwood trees
Ayers Rock
Goodison Park
most people yearn to visit, but its there when you wake up
brilliant

just not in your face. I had to lean sideways out of the bedroom window to see it. 'twas a fine sight on a sunny morning.
Then there was the chap who dined in the Eiffel tower every day. He thought it was a monstrosity and the restaurant was one place he couldn't see it from.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

I remember playing footy against some gunners shower in Larkhill. Would have been about 1979-80 I suppose. We won 2-1 and yours truly scored the first goal.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostIn fact, you are wrong.
