I disagree. Burn the bridge and make sure the agent is strapped to it. Oh and shoot the ****er with a silver bullet as well. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -

We now have three sensible answers, in clear contradiction of the OP's spec! Please, get it right! Sarcasm, wit or rude!Originally posted by SueEllen View PostThat's just mean.
Just make up a really high day rate. If it's high enough the agent will say no.

Whilst I welcome rude, witty or sarcastic comments (as this is in the general forum), sensible answers are always welcomed.

Now there's a thought. Which Bridge is a good place to strap the agent on?Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostI disagree. Burn the bridge and make sure the agent is strapped to it. Isn't that what you want?Originally posted by pmeswani View PostBut sadly, it's for a role on the dark side. I would be tempted to tell the agent that I may only consider the role if they offered £75k or above, but as I already agreed £50k, I don't think that would wash.

That's a perspective I was looking for. Thanks for that TAV.Originally posted by The Agents View View PostI cannot believe that nobody has come up with the right answer.
Explain, that if you took this job, it would be as a stop-gap - and therefore he would end up having to pay a rebate to the client, as you'd be a timebomb with a maximum of an 8 week fuse.
Agents HATE rebates, as they have to either do all the work again, to gain nothing new - or they have to give money back to their client and employer (if commission has already been paid).
Tell him to think about his client.
To be honest, I don't have problems burning bridges with tw*ty agents, as I would prefer to rely on those who are approachable and work in the best interest of the contractor (and the client) rather than their back pockets.Originally posted by The Agents View View PostDO NOT BURN BRIDGES. Yep. But the agent won't buy it. So won't bother suggesting it. TAV came up with a good view point that I was looking for.Originally posted by jmo21 View PostIsn't that what you want?
