School for scoundrels - absolute classic (the car is a Jag, by the way).

              Dial M for Murder.

              Ladykillers.

Or are these 50's ? - either way, well worth a watch.

"The Spy who Came in from the Cold" 1965, slap bang in the middle of your favoured decade.

A gritty thriller starring Richard Burton, just up your street MF I'd imagine.

(and talking about streets, I particularly like that one as it showed the street where I used to live in South Ken )

I would have recommended The Sting but that's from 1973

imdb lists films by year and popularity

                    Le Samouraï (1967) - IMDb

Classic piece of 60's French Cinema, do not watch if you're trying to quit smoking though!
