Is that where you stick your fingers down your throat after food?
What happens in General, stays in General.

How many do you burn having someone else's arse sat on your face for a mile?
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

          Oh hang on...

As long as you don't have that 'compensatory pastry' - exercise works!

It works for me, maybe coz I can't eat pastry?

Depends on the nature of said anaerobic exercise. Short, heavy bursts of power like weightlifting, jumping exercises or 5 second sprints (the phosphate system) will encourage your body to develop muscle bulk which then requires fuel. Repeated slightly longer anaerobic exercises (the lactic acid system, 20 to 30 seconds, where you exercise above your aerobic limit or VO2 max) will leave you in a state of slight oxygen deficit for several hours after the exercise and cause your heart rate to be slightly higher than normal; the effect is that you burn off fat while you're in bed or on the couch after exercise. Anaerobic exercise in the sense of being asphyxiated while having sex will get you honorary membership of the Conservative Party.

Actually, what they don't tell you at the gym is that anaerobic exercise (e.g. repeatedly sprinting up a hill and walking back down) is a very effective way of losing fat; trouble is, if you aren't fit beforehand it can also give you injuries and a heart attack.

Think that rule is just for walking/running.

                Indeed.

But it will make you lighter if you don't up your calorie intake to match your higher usage.

The body is a clever bastard like that.

But burning fat only kicks in after 20 minutes or so - that is once you run out of more immediately available sources of energy like glucose, so no matter what, you still have to spend at least an hour (warm-up, cool-down etc) for it to be a sensible fat burning effort...

It'll make you pretty ill if you don't have sufficient calorie intake to fuel the exercise. (nb; this is not an encouragement to eat more pies if you go for a 15 minute cycle ride each day)
