To win the world cup you have to have a media that does not criticise what you are trying to achieve and be willing to pay bribes.
I give you Russia & Qatar.
England totally failed on both. I am quite sure both winning parties paid shed loads to get this and England sent Prince William instead
England lost out on the decision timings as well, you should have had it probably about a decade ago but when that one was being decided you were just back from your Europe ban and Hillsborough was still very fresh in the mind.
Russia will be a hooligans fight fest as well. Madness to give it to them, Qatar will just be dull.Comment

After all, what do they know about football in Qatar?

I believe FIFA's intentions are not to give it to the entrenched 'Western Nations'. It is the WORLD cup after all. Why should Engald have the right to host it AGAIN."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

Works for me, with any luck there will be massive casualties and this country will lose a few thousand scumbags that we can easily spare.Originally posted by minestrone View PostRussia will be a hooligans fight fest as well.
That implies any football can avoid being dull, the location is irrelevant.Originally posted by minestrone View PostQatar will just be dull.Comment

Does Scotland have enough suitable stadiums (I genuinely don't know)? It's a popular sport there and I'd imagine that there would be a good atmosphere if it was held there.Comment

Would the stones in Hyde Park be memorable if there was 20,000 folk there?Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostThat implies any football can avoid being dull, the location is irrelevant.
Context is everything, sporting events are bigger and better when there is a Larger, more knowledgeable, more passionate crowd.
Anyway, wgaf. I never lost anything and I am away for a beer.Comment

tulip football or tulip setup? And tulip to who? To us in the UK? There are 208 nations that make up FIFA. Are you speaking for all of them or personally?Originally posted by minestrone View PostSoth Africa was tulip, Japan and SK was tulip, USA tulip.
Not for a world cup. We don't even have enough for a Euro bid by ourself. Our best bet would be Euros with Ireland or Wales.Originally posted by TykeMerc View PostDoes Scotland have enough suitable stadiums (I genuinely don't know)? BBC reporting that only 2 nations voted for the England bid out of 22. And that one of those nations was England."A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It’s the s*** that happens while you’re waiting for moments that never come." -- Lester FreamonComment
