I have to put up with the Australian TV coverage where I am (but they are better than they used to be at trying to be less partisan, so it could be worse).

They have a habit of asking a question and getting viewers to text in yes/no answers.

    Today's question was

Can Australia save this test match?
The Australian viewing public, who are usually staunchly patriotic, answered:

    Yes - 27%
    No - 73%

Depend if the aussies remember how to bat or not. Will get an extra 10-15 overs tomorrow so might be worth using those to bat a bit, then having a real go at them.

              Tuesday won't offer many overs...

That is our only option and I understand the logic - we've bowled them out in a day once so we should be able to do so again.

However, that was while Australia were still trying to win the game by taking risks (I'm thinking particularly of the run-outs) and impose themselves psychologically (Strauss and Flower had wiped the floor with them in this department). I don't think they'll make it as easy second time round.

                  612-5.

Prior and Bell motoring at 9 an over!

The ground looks a bit empty again (and it's not a big ground anyway). Sing when you're winning?

If the weather holds then there could be an England win, fine first innings that.
