I think my buyer is about to try and Gazunder me. We have been ready to exchange since 1st October enquiries done everything ready but she is not coming up with the deposit to exchange. She has told my estate agent she was going to transfer the funds a fortnight ago but she didnt and didnt tell us she hadnt. She is saying she has to get all the funds together from various members of her family into one bank account because of money laundering rules. She says she still wants to buy my flat and wants to move in asap but wants to the end of February.
I am a pensioner who is recovering from cancer who is paying each month out of my pension to keep this empty flat going and then try and support myself. I needed to sell quickly and and it should have been no chain and a first time buyer.......all was going swimmingly until 1st october. As my property was more than realisticly priced originally and I accepted 5k off the asking price is she comes back trying to Gazunder on a point of principle I will no be reducing..she buys at the price she originally offered or she can go and take a running jump. I will rent it out until the market improves. What do others think

if she gazumps can you still fund an empty flat for as long as it takes to rent it out? if yes then tell her to shove it. if no...

an empty flat is an ideal place for a first post welcome party! it's a bit early for me but we could start with some food - bacon butties anyone?

I've just gazundered someone for the first time.

Have that and reduce the price you bastards or we don't complete on Friday.

        Fingers crossed.

I've always taken the view that anyone who dicks me about when buying or selling a house is straight out the door. Agreed a deal to buy a house a few years ago and a week later got a message that we'd been gazumped. So we offered an extra £20k, the greedy bastard selling accepted that. Then dragged our heels for three weeks and pulled out. The other buyer was fed up with being messed about so wasn't interested either by then.

Owner was furious apparently. Got what he deserved in my opinion.

Hope you get shafted on the gazundering. Then again, its probably more fantasy bulltulip.

I've always taken the view that anyone who does not bring case with cash when buying or selling a house should get kicked into the kerb.

Where is snaw when you need him? MF could have just asked him to mount a friendly bid much lower than him ...

And again. Tell the solicitor you need a final go / no-go call an hour before exchange. Best if you plan to exchange and complete on the same day. so the vendor has thrift stuff on the street.

The case below should be large enough to hold all your cash, but I don't think it'll be paying for any flats (not even in Birmingham):
