my eldest child dropped her 2 month old phone in the bog christmas day last year.
we took the phone apart, placed it in the airing cupboard for the day and by boxing day it was fine.

      Honestly, modern parents. Tut.

I was thinking about upgrading my old Sony E to an iPhone - is it worth doing?

I've got a N97 and I'd avoid them. It's keyboard is great and it has been really stable since I installed the latest sw update - but it's slow and unreliable. Of late it has started to show problems with its battery. It can be showing half a charge and then suddenly drops to 1 bar with the battery low message. Its good for the net and video (32gb of storage and card slot also) but I stopped using the sat nav on it when it kept mixing up its left and right - not many right hand turns on UK motorways!

They have a new one hitting the shops soon with a slide out keyboard. I'm going to wait to see how it does and what the impression is of the new windows 7 phones.

Blackberry and iPhone are out. You can't have these as company phones (without BIK).

Please note that the rules in this guide don’t apply to a device such as an iPhone or BlackBerry – the range of functions these devices offer means that HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) doesn’t consider them to be primarily mobile phones.
That rules out just about anything of interest, I'd just pay for the dam thing and have what you want, you don't save that much claiming as an expense shirley?

In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

What a crock of tulip that is!!

I'd say that none of the mobiles on the market could be classed as just a mobile - they all have cameras, can play music and video, surf the web and handle mail. You would be hard pushed to find one that doesn't!

While my phone is not just a phone, it picks up my work mail and I store lots of my work on it - I use it like a mini laptop than can make phone calls! Typical of the IR.
