I haven't been following it. Seems like a lot of fuss about an old bloke dressed in white. I did hear that the Pope mobile is cable of doing 160 mph though, which was vaguely amusing.

I've looked on t'internet and only found that statistic quoted in 1 single uk newspaper, the Daily Mail

Also, the popemobile is a converted Mercedes Benz M Class SUV, all Mercedes are limited to 155mph, however Wikipedia states "The current Popemobile is based on a W163 ML430", this states however that 115mph is more likely the top speed and that's before it's been converted with that glass shed on the back.

I heard it said on one of the topical comedy shows, I forget which one. I didn't believe it myself, but it was an amusing image. And often there is some half-truth behind satire.
