Talking about Wifi (although not wanting to hijack HAB's topic), is there any software to change and distribute the network password every couple of hours?

I've disabled Wifi on my network, as I don't want drive-by hackers tuning in. But it would be handy to have it enabled if I could be fairly confident it was secure.

I heard Kerberos was sometimes used for this. But that seems a bit long in the tooth these days, as I remember it was around back in the '80s !

I think you need an access point that supports the 802.1X authentication protocol for that sort of thing. Then you can set it up to use certificate based authentication or whatever.

Most will let you set up an access control list based on MAC address, so as long as you don't have a lot of visitors (which would become a hassle) that will go a long way to securing things. And obviously choose a "strong" password. And use WPA2.
