You are very wrong here - ConsultantCo got their cut for providing peace of mind and accepting all risks of employing you without backup.

The whole point was that ClientCo's "peace of mind" with ConsultantCo involved was completely illusory.

I wasn't complaining.... I got a better rate to do the same role.

ClientCo paid a pretty huge premium for "insurance" which if it came to a claim wasn't really there... I still maintain that ConsultCo got a hefty cut for "nothing" ie they didn't actually provide anything above and beyond what MyCo did..... but (or because) I is tulip hot every one was happy.... had I just been tulip then I would have been OK and both ConsultCo and ClientCo would have been in the doo doo..... and my PI might even have taken a hit
