      I was trying to replace the elements, it is 10 years old. It was never that great, never cooked evenly I think they are overrated...

        My Dualit kettle was a load of crud too.

        My method for toasting buns is to ram each half into the toaster, toast until lightly burned, then panic and retrieve with a knife.
        Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.
