Please go and read some history and then make a posting. Both the UK and US were openly sending arms and money to the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. The Taliban was the name given by the west.
Well, that's good enough for me. You sound like an expert.

Tell me more about this Wikipedia interweb site...

The Taliban movement appeared long AFTER USSR left Afganistan - that was in late 80s, and communist regime there managed another 10 years - Taliban was sponsored by ISI (Pakistan): if you have issues with it then take them to Pakistan, there was no UK/US involvement in actually making Taliban win in late 90s.

No, no. I think Paddy is a subject expert. He is fully qualified in Wikipedia and quite possibly makes contributions. He also seems to know about the US and the UK which according to Wikipedia are 2 small countries only 200 miles from England. I think they speak dutch.

Taliban - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Taliban, alternative spelling Taleban,[5] (Pashto: طالبان ṭālibān, meaning "students") is a Sunni Islamist political movement that governed Afghanistan from 1996 until it was overthrown in late 2001."

UK/USA had nothing to do with forming of Taliban.

                Paddy is well informed.

Any disagreement is due to not reading his posts properly.

Disagreeing is not just wrong, it is also twaty.
