Not sure I want to jump on that particular bandwagon.

I think it's going to be another Nokia, although I might consider a Sony X10 or HTC Desire, or perhaps the touch pro 2 if I can stomach windows.

You are considering another Nokia after having the N97 bag of tulip that it is? I've had one and it's cr@p. I've already had it repaired once becuase it would decide to only allow me to answer certain calls! It hangs all the time, has too little ram and cannot run any mail and use the web without running out of space on c:. This dispite it having 32gb on D: which you can't use for mail or internet cache.

As a beta for their n9000 then it's ok. As a bloody expensive handset in its own right it a big pile of wank!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

ooo good choices, as you know I had the X1 and now have the Touch Pro2, the X1 was better IMO..

apologies CM, SupremeSpod/Churchill et al for missing the meetup, I got held up with a decent steak and a bottle of XO in The Living Room and afterwards thought it wouldn't be a good first meet given my inability to form a decent sentence. Instead, I decided to take friends on a small tour of the Northern Quarter (The Northern, Bar Centro then Cord) before being turned away from Socio Rehab for stumbling into the bouncer and ended up in Bluu then Rusholme for that mandatory late night curry..

anyway, it's 33C here in Cologne, i'm off for a beer in the sun..

@doodab: get the TP2, see you Aug 9th.

Have you upgraded to the latest firmware? It did used to be crap until I upgraded it but until yesterday's "incident" I had no trouble using the internet, hotmail in messaging, nokia maps and so on all at once. The touchscreen call answering did take a bit of getting used to though, and the crappy little stylus thing died within a week.

I was actually considering the N900. It's either that or the Sony X10, a HTC, or perhaps the samsung 9000 or the motorola android one with the keyboard.

                It's not the same!

The N900 is a mobile computer that you can use as a phone. The blackberry is a comms gateway.

Might do, Vodafone should fix the broken one anyway, but I don't want to wait till I'm next back in the UK.

I need to have a look at the deals I can get on a German contract I think, they are all €500+ ohne vertrag.

On the latest firmware and while it's better it is still rubbish. I've stripped out a load of apps that come as default and stuck what I can onto the 32gb drive. My phone has 8mb free on c. As for Nokia maps. I used it as a sat nav last weekend and it kept getting left and right mixed up. The map would clearly show a left turn and it would say right. It told me to take the next right on the motorway. As it was the M60 I could have been going round forever before I found the next right!
