    Never knew that.

So Churchill, what was the last album you bought? Seriously.

Which set me thinking, since the dawn of such TV shows, are we now much more picky about the standard of modern singers, and if so, which "classic" and "hall of fame" type singers of days gone by would most likely fall on their arses in the first round of X Factor?

        (Sorry Mr Jagger)
Really good songwriters those X-Factor guys too.

As usual you are missing the point, you are right that Jagger couldn't do a very good Whitney Houston/ Mariah Carey/ Justin Timberlake/ Westlife impersonation but would he/we want him to?

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Everyone was doing it then, everyone is doing it now. Much kudos to the likes of the Artic Monkeys for not going down the homogenized route.

Quite interesting documentary (in a ch 5 way) on Simon Cowel. Not the self made man he makes out to be, Daddy (on the board at EMI) gave him quite a few helping hands.
