If you pick out this incident in total isolation then I do not see what the soldiers did wrong. Bleeding heart liberals will hide the fact that the group that organised this have links with terrorist groups, the protestors were armed and were using deadly force and tell us when some of them get shot it's unfair.

The turks are probably the happiest that a group of them got shot, it is what they wanted.
From what I've seen. only about 50 people engaged in violence. the rest stayed outta the way or stayed in their cabins. I only saw about 3 people wearing masks - the majority did not.
Anyway, it beats me why they had to board so far out from their territorial waters and at night. Why they just didn't park a destroyer in front of them and board during the day. Unless....they didn't want the ship to dock in Egypt.

It looks like both sides were attempting a PR coup.

Whether this account is true or not is pure speculation and is based on the Israelis version of events.

We only need to look at out very own darling Metropolitain police force and their dealings with the stockwell tube shootings to see how the official account of events can be wildely inaccurate.

FWIW, I don't think that those organising the aid shipment are without blame.
After all if you knock over the pub thugs drink then you can expect a pounding in the car park

Well from what I hear the protestors had ceramic body armour, night vision goggles, stun grenades and cutlasses. They had cut the metal bars from stairs earlier.

Really they were asking to be shot.

The film has enough evidence for me to say that shooting the protestors was legitimate. No problems at all.

From what I hear, the ship was in international waters and israel had no juristication and no right to board.

Which brings the question why they didn't wait until it entered israeli waters and then blew a hole in the rudder?

They had stated they would ignore the request to stop at border.

If they had shot them when they got closer to the shore would you be OK with that?

Holding a metal bar means you can be shot? I'd better take care next time I'm trimming my lawn then hadn't I!

It is fairly standard pratice to board ships from helicopters, the Royal Navy do it all the time when boarding boats carrying drugs in international waters.
