There are a great many people who have had good jobs and bought themselves luxuries, and then due to government policy, find themselves on the dole.

Are you saying they should be made to sell everything?

They have a choice - live on the bare minimum, or sell their wares.

JSA is supposed to keep you on your feet whilst you look for a job, not be a replacement for a £20k job.

My position is: why should people suffer because of government policy? If the government is happy to bring lots of people in on cheap wages then why should the people who would otherwise do these jobs bother looking for work, and additional to that, why should they suffer a lower standard of living?

I totally agree, there are plenty of 'hard working families' who've seen their standard of living completely undermined by government policy. It's no fun struggling to get by whilst your future plans go down the toilet through no fault of your own.

Is it Germany where you get benefit based on a percentage of your last wage for a set period so you don't suffer in the short term?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Also Gran Canria is probably cheaper than holidaying in the UK.

When proper working people struggle to save enough for a decent holiday, because the bulk of their wages are robbed by the socialist government as taxes, I have a big problem with people on benefits going on holiday. Benefits are being paid to sustain and not to party. It's such a disgrace that people n benefits are able to holiday using my tax money and even have the audacity to go public admitting that.

And sustain 20 fags, 12 cans of stella a day habit while ponsing around with their 3 kids called Chardonnay, Trent, and Kylie all of whom and under 5, have Nike's and iPhones.

Don't mind minimal food and shelter to survive. But it's taking the p1ss these days.
