I've been playing on and off for about 26 years or so. I haven't really played since I moved to the UK, I don't know if its the difference between Irish and UK clubs, but over here it really is an elitist sport, played by snobs (who can't play golf for toffee).
I used to have it on my Cv as one of my interests back in the days of being a permie, but found it an obstacle to getting jobs as it may have been a conversation point, but not when your handicap was lower than your interviewers (and then you didn't get the job, not joking either).

Not on the public courses. Perhaps if you want to play at Wentworth every week.
My uncle plays regularly at a couple of local clubs, and he is far from the elite...
