sasguru: I often have that same conversation with people who believe in Quantum Physics. You have the Copenhageners and the Multiversers, give 'em some guns and it would be protestants and catholics all over again. I don't believe any of it, which I guess would make me a Buddhist.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

saguru - hearsay that some charismatic person called Jesus lived 2000 years ago? You are obviously no great historian because if the same historical tests that are applied non Christian documents are applied to writings of New Testament then you will find that there is more evidence exists for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ than any other person in history. Do not take my word for it, go ask any historian. For me it is not the historical evidence, nor the hundreds of fulfilled prophecy or even the message, it is the fact that Jesus Christ changed my life, and lives of the people around me that is why my I have my faith and that is valid than any other belief system.Sola gratia

First of all, please name a reputable historian that says what you claim.Originally posted by Chicosaguru - hearsay that some charismatic person called Jesus lived 2000 years ago? Second your last statement could have been made by any suicide bomber vis:
"For me it is not the historical evidence, nor the hundreds of fulfilled prophecy or even the message, it is the fact that Allah changed my life, and lives of the people around me that is why my I have my faith and that is valid than any other belief system"Hard Brexit now!

I haven't seen a war yet between the differing camps in Quantum Physics. The difference is that their battle will be fought on the balance of evidence rather than a belief system.Originally posted by threadedsasguru: I often have that same conversation with people who believe in Quantum Physics. Perhaps I should say "...their battle should be fought on the balance of evidence". Scientists are human too and sometimes they too "believe". That's the differnce between a good scientist and a poor one.Hard Brexit now!

Well if the difference Allah makes to them is go around and blow people up then you essentially you have made my point and by the way there is no historical evidence or fulfilled prophesy for Islam. The Koran was written by one man, Mohammed who claimed that over a period of time had it recited to him by the Angel Gabriel. Suprising it claims that The Bible is also the inerrant Word of God and it complements the Koran. Anyways on the contrary the Bible was written by 40 different people spanning 1600 years all inspired by the Holy Spirit. On the balance of probabilities which one would you say was more likely to be the Word of God?Sola gratia

Why are Mohammed's visions any likely to be less true than the others?
I've posted a link on the other thread about visions.Hard Brexit now!

Yes they are because the key events in the Bible were witnessed by more than one person. What would believe - a supernatural event claimed to be witnessed by a group at the same time or a supernatural event witnessed by one person?Originally posted by sasguruWhy are Mohammed's visions any likely to be less true than the others?
