    0845

Would it help if I asked BT to come onto the site and explain this for you??

0845 - Is a commonly used number that is used for national purposes, i.e. Banks, so like I have already said each and every individual pays the same local rate.

    Thanks again

Perhaps you should explain it to Ofcom. After all, maybe they are wrong and you are right when they say they are seriously concerned about callers not knowing what an 0845 number costs to call and it not being charged at "local rate" even though it's advertised at "local rate". For example, if you call from a BT line it's 3p/min, if you call from a Telewest line it's 3.95p/min, if you use call1899 it's 4p/min, and so on.

At the end of the day, you are making money out of potential customers calling your sales line. Good for you. Make the most of it before the operator kickback is abolished next year.

From the outset of this forum topic, people have tried to slander and write untrue comments about our service, as you go through you will actually see that your peers have infact (after having a proper and close look at how we operate) been exceptional complimentary about how we operate in comparison to our competitors.

It has now got to a stage where you are trying to infact pick holes in a phone number that exsists in mulitple organisations ranging from Banks to Umbrella companies like ourselves.

Well done, just for the record, and I do this just so you can sleep well at night, the first thing we ask our contractors is if they want a call back, in fact trying to save them money, in relation to what your saying, but yet again in your quest to try and tarnish the image of my organisation, I feel the need to fully educate you in our services.

You have no idea how how we operate, like I have no idea how you do either, would it be fair for me to assume you do this or you do that?? No, just like I have the honesty and ingerity to write my full name and publish my actual role in No Longer Limited, instead of hiding behind a make believe name like yourself so I can make comments about something I nothing about.

Once and for all, we are providing a service for contractors, we are not trying to extract as much money as possible from them. At then end of the day we take pride in what we do and if you ask any contractor who is using us they will say the same.

Would your time not be better spent picking holes in an umbrella company who has a bad reputation instead of trying your utmost to tarnish a reputable one like ourselves with something as particular and irrelevant as a 0845 number.

I am chuffed that you are aware of Ofcom's stance, may they implement this ASAP, in turn it means that everyone will have to adhere to this and save the contractor even more money in the long run.

Just for your records a standard local day time call from BT is charged at 3p per minute, so infact you have proved my point for me, our number is charged at a local rate.

So many thanks for solving that, I appreciate your assistance.

        Regards

            Robert,

I've also heard that you make contractors use 1st class stamps instead of 2nd class, thereby robbing them of 2p and that you make them wait on hold for an extra 4 seconds, thereby robbing them of another 0.023p.

            Disgraceful.

            Regards,

            Disgruntled of Cleethorpes.

This thread sums up the prevailing mentality of the posters on the board. Cynical, inaccurate, rude, insulting and not having the decency to admit when in wrong. Robert all credit to you for taking the time to correct any false impressions your website may or may not have given however judging by the responses to date (bar mal) it was in vain. Welcome to the fickle world of CUK were reason, decency and fact go out of the window in favour of irrational rantings.

Robert, tell it to Ofcom. They're the ones acting to tighten up the misleading description of 0845 as "local rate" by capping the variable rate, banning the use of the phrase "local rate" to describe an 0845 number, and abolishing the operator kickback.

At the end of the day, you are making money out of potential customers calling your sales line. Good for you. Make the most of it.

Given the poster, I couldn't let the delicious irony of those last words pass by without highlight.
