Seriously, when I first used a Mac back in, whenever it was, early nineties, it was actually the installation process that made me go wow. You put the disk in and dragged the contents over to the hard drive. I was bowled over. I couldn't believe how quickly you could build a system.
Yeah and some of them still can't do that hence the emails.

I installed iTunes overbloated tulip for my iPod and it started crashing machine (Windows XP Pro): uninstalled promptly and all works fine.

If Apple had its way we'd still have one button mouse

I actually like some aspects of OSX as an OS but being tied into proprietary overpriced hardware turns me off. I don't need shiny or fashion just functionality.

No point in getting into arguments about which is better, Linux is the mainstay of home and work computing and I'm perfectly happy with a terminal and command line. I have Windoze and OSX boxes to play with when required. A dual boot Linux / Win netbook and smartphone (soon to be replaced with a Nokia N900), is all I need for mobile computing.

I'm far more interested in someone telling me they use Linux than a Mac.

I use Linux - rebuilt my laptop today on Linux Mint 8 64bit And my desktop machine upstairs runs Ubuntu 9.10 - no problems so far, which is a touch better than WIndows 7 which crashed at least three times a day.

Can I use the iPad to watch YouTube, BBC iPlayer, 4oD, Last FM etc?

All these use flash player embedded on their websites?

Iam sure they'll sell you minor OS upgrade with it in the near future.
