As people have said it was transparently a scare story no doubt designed to make money for the drugs companies.
It was probably also to stop people worrying about the recession - you know something along the lines of - "You may have lost your job but hey it could be worse you could be dead"
Probably

Its all a conspiracy cooked up by politicians/pharma companies/AGW scientists

Only one jab eachOriginally posted by minestrone View PostYet again you prove how little you know.
The single vaccine jab has been proven to be enough, that is why you should consult a trained doctor for your medical advice and not believe everything you read in the press.
why did they order 130 million of them then ?

How dare you question the government, big pharma companies making billions and of course GP's who aren't in it for the big money on offer!Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostOnly one jab each

Perhaps my intial reaction to Swine Flu was therefore correct - when you consider that many of these shady characters had just a few months prior to this scandal lost their shirts on Wall St and the City of London - Swineflu was a golden opportunity to cash in - as always its Joe Public who has to cough up - if you pardon the pun.Comment

Heres a post from TimberWolf way back in April - nice one !
True businessmen would be looking at ways of making money out of pig flu and other media created frenzies.
Why should the pharma companies and Doctors get all the action?
Anyone got any good business ideas?
E.g.
Selling miracle pig flu cures on eBay
Books on pig flu tulip
Surgical masks
A specialist pig flu website (probably already done)
Self-cure books and videos
Fake Tamiflu tablets
Drive by coughings and other flu related robbings
Information on how to build a pig flu bunker
Courses on how to hunt for Truffles
Does anyone have any more great business ideas like this?Comment
