The Bullingdon's more of a problem than Eton. They were a right bunch of tosspots and proud of it.

Riddle me this: How many of the shadow cabinet went to top private/public schools, followed by an Oxbridge education, followed by a career in politics.

And it is not just the Tories.

I would like to see real people governing us. People with experience of the real world.

How can the people described above devise policy that is sympathetic to the need of patients on mixed wards in Victorian hospitals.

They can't and that is the problem.

More real people, more real talk and more real policy for the British public......

Maybe then tax would not be the single issue on the manifesto
What is a "real" person? I dont think I've ever met one.

Surely the fact that we are talking about what is essentially a frat house in the same discussion as our nations policies both home and abroad, rather proves my point.

Ours is not a system that is representative of the electorate.

Remember the avg salary in this country is £20,801. The voters should have politicians that are understanding/experienced of this position.

Does this mean that old Etonian and Harrovians should be barred from public office. Absolutely not, however I would like to see more experience and a cross section of politicians that is representative of the electorate.
I think you are revealing mnore about yourself and your own prejudices than you are contributing to any debate. Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that "expenses abuse" cut accross all classes.

Would you prefer our representatives acted as a proxy - casting a ballot of their constituents every time a vote was required?

I think I'd vote for that.

Quite a wide range of school backgrounds among this lot and I only found two old Etonians. Admittedly, one from Radley and one from Charterhouse and quite a few from grammar schools, but there are more comprehensive school people in the shadow cabinet than Etonians.

You are not actually making any point. You are just throwing around a lot of meaningless cliches. For example maybe you can explain to us what is a system that is representative of the electorate, why would such a system be desirable? and where is there an example of such a system?

Venezuela has a Chavocracy. It’s not really working very well.

They're a bunch of young people who enjoy drinking, partying and f**king, just like many other young people. The difference is that they have a lot of money, so they drink more Taittinger than Special Brew, they dressup in tails for parties instead of tracksuits and they get it on with girls called Arabella instead of Tracy.
