When an oil tank gets low you also start getting cack in the filters.

No, that's only where the remaining fuel sloshes about, I.e. in vehicles, boats etc. A domestic fuel tank would remain settled unless moved

Have you tried bleeding the radiators?
Suprised nobody's mentioned this yet.....

Seriously though, remember to switch heating off for about an hour after filling the tank, lets the crap stirred up by filling settle so it doesn't get into the filter.
