I know about this all too well. Cut a close friend out of my life a few years ago (long story) but was sick of her only being around when something exciting was going on as well as her selfishness and self-obsession. I never had an argument with her or said anything bad to her, just cut her off and never contacted her. True to herself she didn't realise until it was too late and never made an effort to contact me again - meanwhile telling everyone how sad she was we were no longer friends (and casting herself as the victim).

Has been a bit awkward because of mutual friends but on saturday night bumped into her boyfriend (after a really good night out which is a shame) and he left loose with the 'c' word about 10 times at me, totally unprovoked and unnecessary in the context.

Needless to say my husband was furious (as her boyfriend is supposed to be sort of a friend of his) and did say something to him but no apology whatsoever. If I was her I would have called up and apologised on his behalf but I don't know if she knows.

I got fed up with what I once heard called "energy-stealers" (I know that sounds hippyish but I think it is a good description!) and have a couple of very good friends now that I know I can rely on.

My advice would be to just drift away and be very vague with them and hope you don't get caught by their partner and called the c word!!!!!

Same here. I think unless I want to start looking like I belong on Jeremy Kyle, I need to stop. Well, maybe just get the one at the top of my back touched up like.

My sisters boyf is covered from his jawline down, very bizarre and quite fascinating.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

It is facinating isn't it? Thats a good description of it.

Know what you mean about the Jeremy Kyle thing too... it's just trying to stop is near enough impossible.

You make it sound like you need to keep going back for a 'fix'.

Hmm. I wonder what they put in the dye...

I passed out with my first one, years ago. Vowed never, ever again. Still no idea why I then decided to have one on my foot, because it hurt like a flipper. A few more and I am addicted. Maybe we're sadists. Is that the right word?

6, so similar! None of mine are generally visible, except the freehand slash of stars diagonal across the inside of my wrist - cover that up for interviews usually though. What will you get, a lily? Where??

Same here, the one on my wrist I can hide easy - none of the rest are visable. The lilly will start at the front of my body and go round the side wil the flower somewhere in the middle of my back... That's the plan anyway... I'm still trying to decide. Will have a chat with the girl who does them for me. She's really great & very honest!!
