Why dont you simply get a wireless repeater or two- 30-50 quid each, installed in less than an hour, no need to knock your flat around??

Or get a wireless media server. That box gets located and plugged into your current socket - and gets the mega speeds - and the remaining machines just stream from/to it wirelessly. You should easily be able to reach speeds from the media server that are waaayy beyond your needs, even for HD quality stuff.
