I read somewhere that out of every £2 collected for 'charities', only 14 pence makes it to the needy.

The charity I gave to came knocking on my door with their sob stories whilst pocketing salaries well above the national average, I found that to be a little hypocritical... fair enough if they were chugging Holland Park but not people in average 3 bed semi's.

BTW I wasn't commenting on your particular cause that you've only just seen on the TV.

I wasn't asking why SY01 wanted to donate anything. But "scraping together every penny" or whatever phrase he used seemed a bit OTT, although I do see where he's coming from.
