I was wither dealing with the man selling his energy company or the postman or an agent. If not, I was frantically filling in a job application.Originally posted by Moose423956 View PostTossers. It should be a criminal offence to fail to observe it.
Was listening to Planet Rock at the time, they stopped transmitting for 2 minutes. At least I didn't feel alone.
2 minutes? I thought it used to be 1 minute? My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

I'd just popped to Tesco for a few bits. When the notice came over the tannoy a little white-haired old lady beside me said "Blimey, shout it a bit louder, love. D'they think we're all deaf?". She then proceeded to carry on shopping while all around her everyone else, employees and shoppers alike, stood still and silent.
Its supposed to the the younger people who are disrespectful.

She sounds like a clever old lady to me. I bet she got a till with no queue, too.Originally posted by wobbegong View PostShe then proceeded to carry on shopping while all around her everyone else, employees and shoppers alike, stood still and silent. She may have her reasons for not wanting to oberve the silence:
- "I do my silence thing at the War Memorial on Sunday."
- "I do my silence thing at church in the week when there's nobody about, while I'm doing the flowers."
- "It won't bring my Albert back."
- "I daren't stand still for too long with these hips. I'll freeze up."
- "Must get these Femidom sharpish; there's a punter waiting."My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

If you want to think about the war dead, you shouldn't have to be told when and how to do it by state diktat, IMHO.
Isn't that more of the nanny state that all you lot complain about so much?Hard Brexit now!
