    t'was "The Witchfinder General".

VP played a sicko sadistic witch hunter who was really only after an excuse to do what he loved doing, burning people alive.

Its not a question of agreement or disagreement but reality - actual practice.

IF safety of millions of people at stake then its fine to apply torture so long as all such instances are publicised and if it is proven that person was innocent then he/she gets major comprensation to get him set for life and people who made wrong decision get taste of their own medicine - get tortured themselves just like the innocent person was. This makes the system pretty balanced.
