OK, so what organised religion pre-dated Christianity in the UK? If you are refering to Sun worship and Wicca then both are still around. However, practioners of both were persecuted once the new religion was established. My concern is that Islam will take precedence over any other religion in the UK, due to the seeming inherent intolerance of Christian symbolism, and other religions will be persecuted.

To reply to both Chico and John. yes Christianity was the first "organised" religion in this country (although to my thinking, "organised religion" is an oxymoron). However I think you underestimate the robustness of our fellow countrymen if you think Islam will in any way be forced on us.
What you are seeing now is the last attempt at "organised religion". It is essentially a power game.

It seems clear from the writings of G. Julius Caesar that the religion of the native British Celts was highly organised even to the extent of sending representatives to the annual druidic convention within the territory of the Carnutes (in Gaul).

The Roman state religion was, of course, highly organised as you might expect from a pragmatic and practical people such as the Romans.

Both were present in Britain a long time before Christianity.

I assume you have forgiven the terrorists, and will continue to do so in order to break the cycle of escalating violence?
