I was going to dump all the stuff from the garage in it so I can put the car away, but it seems such a waste of a cracking good room.

So I need some ideas - what should I use it for instead?

And finally, be careful of bugs, if you have bugs try a proprietary remedy of even prevent them by using a plastic cover.
