Wouldn't pin your hopes on the rather limited output of YOUR imagination sg. That would be a real recipe for disaster. BRAZILIANS FIND CURE FOR INFLUENZA SHOCK
Originally posted by NickFitz View PostBrazil would, on average, expect to encounter around 500 deaths per week from influenza.
So 129 isn't really that big a dealSwine 'Flu counters Influenza says scientistA research scientist, RichardCranium, 24, suddenly announced his findings that a country with the Piggy Pox, or "Swine Flu" as some agencies call insist on calling it, is rendered immune to the Influenze Disease (whatever the heck that might be).
Recent statistics show a large South American country infected with the Bacon Badness does not suffer from deathness from the Influenza Disease as much as the same large South American country without the Sausage Sickness in a different year.
"Swine flu is really our friend" says someone in a blog, probably.Professor RichardCranium, 56, of the Pork & Hams Investment Bureau, has identified a "statistististically significant correlation" between some thing and some other thing. This means the Influenza Disease is contra, countro, counter, damn, what was that word he said?
However, another scientist, Professor RichardCranium PhD, MD, Etc., 43, said something completely the opposite. But his word is dodgy and he's mad so we can ignore him.

It could be a big deal, bearing in mind that the deaths have almost trebled every week from 4 around the 20th July. If that continues there will be over 1 million deaths within 3 months, according to my calculations just over a week ago. That is ever so slightly more than your predicted 6,000 over that period (ie: 500 x 12 weeks). Time will tell.... no need to be concerned.....

If you are very concerned about SwineFlu - then you might want to ponder over this :
So under the new rules, the countries of the poor world should be entitled to start making as much generic Tamiflu as they want. There are companies across India and China who say they are raring to go. But Roche – the drug company that owns the patent – doesn't want the poor world making cheaper copies for themselves.
So what does that tell you about the underlying economics and reality of this 'pandemic' ?
BTW Appox 16 per cent of funds generated by Big Pharma are put in the R and D - the rest is pretty much pure profit - Qui Bonum - who profits - Cyberman ?
Qui Bonum ?
Rather than Tamiflu -You would be better off taking more Vitiman D and washing your hands more frequently.Last edited by AlfredJPruffock; 5 August 2009, 10:12.Comment

It takes billions and many years to research and develop a drug. Why should the pharma co not get a return on their investment? There is a mechanism of patent expiry that allows generic copying after a period of time - admittedly that is not fast enough in the present case.Hard Brexit now!

Au contraire SG - BigPharma receive a lucrative 84 per cent return on their investment - thats a lot in anybodys book.Originally posted by sasguru View PostIt takes billions and many years to research and develop a drug. If this was a genuine Health concern - they would allow the production of Tamiflu by third world companies to help - surely ??
Aha- but Roche has said 'non' to that - draw your own conclusions ... but I would never purchase Tamiflu and put money into these swindlers pockets - Mr Rumsfield and all.Last edited by AlfredJPruffock; 5 August 2009, 10:44.Comment
