    1) Keeping everyone safe by passing more than 3000 new laws, the most worthy of which has to be the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA).

    2) being blindly supportive of the USA in enforcing our kind of democracy, where peaceful protests usually end in police violence, in the Middle East.

    3) Ensuring the pensions of the working population are put to a far more beneficial cause, thus allowing everyone, except government employees, to continue working until aged 70.
The close proximity of the letters 'G' and 'T' are the reason I'll never again send an important email and end it with "Regards" ....

            That's already been done.

Jim Callaghan in the 1970s and also Sir Alec Douglas-Home in the 1960s.

Interesting to see the list of PM's who came to power without an election since 1900:
              • 2007 Gordon Brown Labour
              • 1990 John Major Conservative (won election in 1992)
              • 1976 James Callaghan Labour
              • 1963 Sir Alec Douglas-Home Conservative
              • 1957 Harold Macmillan Conservative (won election in 1959)
              • 1955 Sir Anthony Eden Conservative (won election in 1955)
              • 1940 Winston Churchill Conservative (won election in 1951)
              • 1937 Neville Chamberlain Conservative
              • 1923 Stanley Baldwin Conservative (won elections in 1924, 1931 and 1935)
              • 1916 David Lloyd George Liberal
              • 1908 Herbert H. Asquith Liberal
              • 1905 Henry Campbell-Bannerman Liberal (won election in 1906)
              • 1902 Arthur Balfour Conservative (won election in 1910)

So Broon is one of six who have never won an election. An interesting group.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - Epicurus
