I don't keep promoting this or any government - you must be genuinely thick if you haven't noticed. Because of your stupid blind thick prejudiced dogma you regard any criticism of any Tory as support for Labour which even most epsilon minus semi-morons of your ilk would be able grasp, is not the case.

My dogma is prejudiced in favour of a growth economy and spreading wealth to make us all better off rather than growth of parasites on the economy that are destroying wealth and making everybody poorer. Thus, my dogma is far superior to that of any thicko Labour supporter.

Btw although I'm far from a fan of Thatcher I didn't start this thread to slag her off (and I haven't). I've had some worthwhile debates about her on here, and I have readily accepted in the past that not everything she did was a bad thing. What a shame blind dogma prevents some people accepting that politicians who aren't on their "side" aren't automatically 100% wrong about everything.

The thing that made Thatcher so evil was the fact that she (and her followers) never gave a tuppenny tulip about the impact of her reforms on people and communities. Sure Unions needed reigning in from the excesses of the 70s and sure companies and public bodies needed to be made more lean and efficient. However mining communities amongst others were just cast into almost full unemployment and poverty and 'accepted' as collateral damage.

This is why the 'I'm allright Jack' Tory-boy sorts get up my nose at times. Sometimes it isn't just about the relentless pursuit of money at all costs.

You don't know any more what she thought than I do. The unions by their greedy selfish actions did more to destroy the communities. Brown will have put nearly four million out of work by his actions by the end of next year. Do you think that he doesn't care ? Of course he does, but he is just incapable and incompetent.
Thatcher cared, but she looked at the wider picture of bringing the UK back to prosperity. If she had ever backed down against union blackmail we would probably have reached unnaffordable public sector pensions 20 years earlier.

Exactly, but without a massive welfare state/public sector. There will always be support for people that need it in hard times under Tories, but Labour have just gone too far in thinking that everything in life is free.

All parties have done great things but no party has got it absolutely right. I would have to say that Labour have done more (NOT charity) for the really poor people of this country though.

Yep they have kept them poor. They have ensured that they have a poor education, they have made sure that they are reliant on benefits and they have denied them any access to the private health that we middle classes have enjoyed.

They have also made sure that they are not allowed to own property.

Why?

because without a poor they would not have millions of people employed under the state dolling out "poor" services or relying on welfare patronage from the state. And Polly Toynbee would be out of a job because she would have no poor people with which to beat the rich.

And do you really think that the likes of Arthur Scargill or any of your friends in the labour party cared any more than she did?

Lily livered liberals like you had blindly supported the evil socialist system that brought the economy crashing down which made it necessary for Thatcher to cull virtually anything and everything.
The IMF had been brought in and the unions were running the country. If you think that there were any "choices" to be had then please explain them.

You as a wealthy contractor are hardly in a position to criticise others about "money at all costs"
