Oddly enough, I took a few days off last week, including the Friday, only to email the PM on the Sunday to warn him I may be working from home Monday. Called the doc and he said: Swine Flu symptoms, off for a week, and so it is. Thought 'this is overkill, brilliant, I'm going to have a week off and it's only going to be like a very mild cold! Excellent!'

Not so. I've barely left the bed for 3 days now, I felt like dying yesterday, and I couldn't sleep at all last night as I was coughing every 20 frikkin seconds. Glad it's happened so I can just get it over with, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I think I'd twat someone if they implied it was a sickie when I get back, assuming this clears up by Monday. If your colleague definitely had it I wouldn't mock unless you want to be wearing a standard-issue corporate coffee.

Exactly my point. People who HAVE swine flue have my sympathy.

Said colleage has not had anything like this, it was blatantly a childcare run out of holiday blag!
