So do I. I walked into the steam sauna at my club last week and some guy was coughing and sneezing. I immediately exited, but obviously just one breath of that unhygienic steam was enough to infect me !!

Is there no chance that the steam might kill the germs?

Maybe at a high temperature, but not at that temperature which is highly variable, and of course the germs would only need to survive for a few seconds to enter somebody else's lungs.
