Shame our Govt doesnt have the same concern for its citizens. We should at least reciprocate how other countries treat us.

We should not be taking foreigners here on visas if we have the skills in the country. This applies to all non-EU citizens. On my last contract I was in the minority as a Brit. If we sent these people back we would have lots of work for indigenous contractors.

Not sure the Tories will be any better. The UK and Europe are run by big business. It is in their interests to keep employment costs down. It also keeps wage demands, hence inflation low.

It's not in the interest of the country to put the indigenous people out of work and have to pay them benefits and deskill them while hiring foreigners that will not be spending most of their money here while probably avoiding tax. Yes, Labour have certainly worked out a way to keep inflation low.... it's called deflation by recession.

As far as the second point is concerned, reducing taxes would help global corps more than cheap labour, and the Tories want to reduce NI for a start. The problem is that we are so messed up that they can't for a long while.

They were on temporary work visas.

These were presented by some people (including those that are kicking up this fuss) as an "easier" way to get into the country than being granted a residence visa from day 1. Go to New Zealand "on holiday", get a job, then apply for a WTR visa.
