It's terribly sad for the family & friends, but the Human race didn't get where it is today by allowing survival of the weakest.

Surely it could be argued that it did. We have become so numerous precisely because we have helped the weakest to survive alongside the fittest.

What rot - Tough guys don't mind a bit of swine flu, and in any case it must be better to catch it in summer.

Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise if it confers some resistance to some really bad flu that may be on the way before long.

Edit: On second thoughts, tough guys _do_ mind catching swine flu if it means they lose a week's pay. So I wonder if once the old, the young, the pregnant, and any other especially vulnerable people have had their jabs whether the self-employed may be able to claim a higher priority if stocks are in limited supply.

So is everyone still buying the "the patient who died had other serious health conditions" line?

Agreed. The football season starts at the beginning of August. I'm certainly not going to avoid going to matches and as far as I'm concerned the sooner I catch it the better. We're all going to get it eventually so let's get it over with and get some immunity.

You'll be fine as long as you are not young, or old, or pregnant, or have any medical conditions and are as fit as an Olympic athlete.

The rest of you. Don't bother booking a holiday for next year.
