    Milan,

you have the right attitude, how is the Skoda upgrade going?

I do not drink cheap plonk, and I can afford to retire.

    Keep reading the Financial Pages.

      Morning Ancient,

seems like much a doo about nothing

glad to hear that things aren't so bad that you have to compromise in the respect of cheap red.

Škoda upgrade is on hold, was tempted by that Discovery, but wasn't 100% and luckily fate dealt the card and someone else bought it. Will continue with the Octavia until around this time next year.

Am thinking about a Porsche Cayenne but it seems out of the question as they don't do a diesel.

Financial pages, not these days, it's all Plan B mate, that's what it's all about - while enjoying life in parallel eh.

Here's to changing backup tapes and many more years of it.

      Where is your villa ?

      All the best,

      Milan.

that was only a joke, toureg 2.5tdi couple of years old could be an option,

still, let's see what the situation in the backup tape world is this time next year eh, it could me on the bench !

and if that's the case the skoda's ownership will be prolonged

          Milan.

            So Milan,

what is the plan to take you away from the Cinderella world of tape loading?

Just think one day they could replace you with an automated cartridge system or a solid-state device.

Sounds like you need to find a way forward quite soon.

the plan b is a good un, and will be divulged in due course, during the next 12 months - some of you will be potential customers I am sure

backup tape automation, from what I have seen these tape robots aren't all that they're cracked up to be and the amount of human intervention required for either robot failures or tape failures means that there'll be work for us tape people for a little while yet

              where's your villa and what's your plan b ?

you're the experienced one who we can learn from

I have to learn from my own mistakes trying not to make the same ones more than once

              Milan.

Do three more years, put everything into the pension (tax free), sell the castle, keep a few hundred grand change, buy the villa in Italy or the South of France, potter about in my little boat, do the odd short-term contract, buy a metal detector and go out treasure hunting, wine, dine and be merry.

                      Software Sales

Who on here has knocked up an application or process that they sell into clients as well as their consultancy rates?
