What's a looser? Someone who loosens things?

Is it really easier in a lower gear? I have no stamina, so I find if I can't get up the hill in high gear (i.e. using strength), then I'd get off and walk. To do it in a low gear just means less effort for a lot lot longer and I'd rather just have a lie down.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Do you know why you have no stamina?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

It's not me making that judgment; I'm a qualified fitness instructor so it would be wrong for me to throw insults at people because of their fitness, but if you just try and cycle 10-20 yards further up the hill each time, your stamina will improve quite rapidly without much extra effort.

Don't you ever come across hills where you think it is way too much effort to cycle up, and do the sensible thing and walk up?

              Not in Holland, no.

Mich, you have many wise words to contribute towards these forums. But perhaps you should abstain from discussions on hills.

There's one near my house; it's nearly 80 metres high. Some of the locals get dizzy at the top of it.

There are a few hills near me that I don't think are worth the effort of cycling up. Well, they are more like paths up cliffs. About 80m to climb in say (imagines winding path and guesses length) 300m. And another where if there are any leaves or dirt are on the ground (as there usually are) the back wheel slips, unless you go ever so carefully.

We have two hillocks nearby, each about 80-90 metres high. Both are somewhat ambitiously called '...berg', the Dutch word for 'mountain'. In the summer there's a permanent First Aid post and an AED at the top of both of them to care for the middle aged heart attack victims who've overestimated their own fitness.
