What he opposes is the Islamification of his country and Europe as a whole.
He is afraid (rightly or wrongly) that growing populations of Muslims will eventualy out number the rest of the population and will then demand Sharia law and governance by Islam.
Islam for non Muslims can be a far worse regime than any fascist dictatorship than Europe has ever seen The primary example of this kind of regime is Afghanistan under the Taliban.
Saudi Arabia also practices restriction of religion to non Muslims as well as removing other freedoms we take for granted here in the West.
As for the church conversion. Why not. I am surprised that they got planning permission for theos green domes though. Not exactly in keeping are they. Why can't British Mosques conform to a British architecture?I am not qualified to give the above advice!
