Just how is it one operating system can be built that performs so much better than the other? You'd think 20 years of development MS would also like to say 'It just works'

Unlike Apple, MS can sell their OS whether it works or not. When you are in that kind of position in the marketplace, quality is not in the top 10 list of things to be worried about.

It's easy to sell an OS that 'just works' on a hardware platform you totally control.

Windows has to work on all kinds of shyte with all kinds of weird hardware.

PCs are an open platform, Macs are a closed platform.

Considering that. Windows is something of a triumph.
