A "Little Englander" is usually applied by the centre and centre-left to those who are regarded as xenophobic and/or overly patriotic and are often accused of being ignorant and boorish. It is also sometimes applied to those who are against membership of the European Union. English people who mistakenly refer to the whole of the UK or Britain as "England" may also be called "Little Englanders".Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

To extend your point, most people who get called "Little Englanders" probably don't hate the Scots (or any other particular group), they just feel their interests are better served outside of the various unions they are in (UK or Europe depending on their views).
Edit: And I've seen a couple of SNP MPs on Question time - you could definitely apply ignorant & boorish to a couple of them."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

But little Englander to me is a type of person that exists in every country, to some degree, just the name for them that changes.Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

I don't watch this J ock because he's turned what was a good Sunday morning show (Breakfast with Frost) into a J ock fest of opinion.
However, I thought I would watch it just to see which J ocks he would have on the show to opine about MPs' expenses.
Answer, Charles Falconer and Richard Shepherd. He also had Alistait Graham, from Northumberland - no doubt for balance.
I'll go back to avoiding this J ock fest now. Sunday morning BBC TV is just a J ock promotion nowadays."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

So are the SNP 'little Scotlanders' ? The fact is that the English are treated as second class with regard to Parliament where Scots can vote on English issues but we can not vote on Scottish issues, and the Barnett formula which provides an extra 1,000 pounds per head to Scots over the English.
Scots and Welsh are both to get free 'NHS' prescriptions and get better access to drugs. This is clearly unfair and it is wrong that we have to accept this inferior treatment when we pay more taxes on average.
It's about time we had a party that can at least fight for equal rights for England. I am not asking for better, just EQUAL !!!Comment
