I wonder how many billions all this pap given out by world governments and organisations will actually cost us in the end. All that panic and waste to save possibly 0 lives.

Nice one that, even by government standards.

Thats almost as good as we need to spend 200 Billion to upgrade Trident because of an unspecified threat from Iran.

        But, but, but:

The 1976 swine flu outbreak, also known as the swine flu fiasco, or the swine flu debacle, appeared in 1976. The outbreak is most remembered for the mass immunization that it prompted in the United States. The strain itself killed one person and hospitalized 13, however side-effects from the vaccine caused 25 deaths.

Overall, about 500 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), resulting in death from severe pulmonary complications for 25 people, were probably caused by an immunopathological reaction to the 1976 vaccine.
If the 'flu don't get ya, the Merkins will...

BI, what on earth is that in your avatar? A caterpillar?

EDIT: Answered my own question: http://forums.contractoruk.com/gener...oth-wasps.html

Cool, and unnerving, at the same time.

There will be a proper serious pandemic within the next decade or so, we just don't know when. Thefore any authorities taking appropriate precations should be commended, if this isn't the one, then great, for now!
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

The global panic over outbreak of a new human-to-human Swine Flu pandemic is increasingly revealed as a likely operation in mass psychological terror whose only beneficiaries are the few global pharmaceutical giants that are in the business of peddling so-called 'antiviral' drugs-Roche, SmithKlineGlaxo and Novavax most prominently.

The losers are the rest of us normal folks.

A "public health emergency" has become an excuse to grease the skids and rush to market experimental drugs and vaccines that are not subject to product liability in the civil courts.

The mandated, mass use of multiple vaccines has become big business in the last quarter century since the U.S. Congress passed a law in 1986 shielding vaccine makers and doctors from liability for vaccine injuries and deaths and the numbers of vaccines recommended by the federal health officials for American children multiplied from 23 doses of 7 vaccines to 48 doses of 14 vaccines from birth to age six. For older children and adults, there are several dozen more federally recommended or state mandated vaccinations.

All of this liability protection and government vaccine mandating has been a boon for vaccine profit- making and public health agency empire building. In 1986, four drug companies made and sold vaccines in America and, by 2007, after corporate mergers and acquisitions there were six drug company giants making and selling vaccines in the U.S.

Today, there are more drug companies seeking to enter the lucrative multi- billion dollar U.S. vaccine market as financial predictions for global profits from the worldwide vaccine business by 2010 have climbed to more than $20B.

If a virus is quick and deadly, it will burn itself out quickly as it runs out of hosts, as with Ebola.
If it’s quick and harmless there’s nothing to worry about, like the common cold.
If it’s slow and harmless likewise.
If it’s slow and deadly there’s plenty of time to take precautions.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014
